MINIMALIST INTERIOR

This home, located in Northern Dutchess County, underwent a total interior transformation. The project entailed converting the interior of a generic house built in the 1980s, to light filled and minimally detailed modern spaces. The interior spaces of the house were reconfigured to improve their use, sequencing and circulation. This project features a two story living room with a catwalk. A portion of the second floor was removed to create this dynamic space. A master suite was created in an existing space over the garage. The kitchen was relocated and extended into the oversized garage. Two existing bathrooms were redesigned and a third was added in the master suite. Windows were added to draw in more daylight and all interior doors were changed. With careful thought and planning the quality of the original, poorly configured, dark and dingy spaces totally changed with a minimal amount of work done to the exterior of the residence.

client testimonial:

“Serge transformed a dark, depressing, architecturally unremarkable house into a bright, soaring, inspiring home.  On every dimension, Serge surpassed expectations.  He made a daunting process fun and creative.  He inspired confidence with his clear command of the technical aspects of his craft.  He listened carefully and always went beyond what we literally said to provide the solutions we really meant to ask for.  He solved problems with the right balance of inspired creativity and budget and engineering realities.  He saw things we never could have imagined and made them happen — on time and on budget.  We are extremely grateful to this talented and cool guy.”
